Grower Survey of Best Management Practices (BMPs)

The purpose of the survey is to document BMPs that are currently implemented on each irrigated parcel. Completion of this survey is required to comply with the Conditional Waiver of Waste Discharge Requirements for Discharges from Irrigated Lands within the Los Angeles Region (Order No. R4-2016-0143). The Conditional Waiver requires that additional Best Management Practices (BMPs) be implemented when monitoring shows water quality is not meeting benchmarks. Based on the survey results, VCAILG will develop a Water Quality Management Plan (WQMP) that includes an outreach plan and assignment of additional BMPs to ensure water quality improves to meet the time schedule directed by the Conditional Waiver. This is the last of three surveys required during the five-year term of the current Conditional Waiver. The results of this final survey will be compared to previous results to demonstrate additional and/or improved BMPs have been implemented to address identified water quality problems.

Please note that survey results will be summarized by monitoring site and HUC-12 drainage area prior to submittal to the Los Angeles Regional Water Quality Control Board. While the compiled results are public information, your individual survey is not. However, you are required to maintain either a paper or electronic copy of your survey results on site. Your completed survey results will be emailed to you and can be printed for your records.
